The SCX solution sweeps Misano: at the Pirelli Made in Italy Emilia-Romagna Round only super soft compound rear tyres for the Supersport and Superbike riders, the latter favouring the new SCX A0557

Michael Ruben Rinaldi triumphs in WorldSBK, Dominique Aegerter takes the win in WorldSSP and Adrian Huertas is the victor in WorldSSP300. Garcia Abell and Repak are the first winners of the Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European Cup.

The new Y0449 specification solution drops the absolute track record for the third consecutive time in 2021, after the Aragón and Estoril rounds.

The new DIABLO Superbike 10” is introduced that will be fitted on the Ohvale GP-0 160 bikes in the MiniGP World series.

It was an action packed day today at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, which hosted the third round of the MOTUL FIM World Superbike Championship and, for the first time in 2021, a restricted number of spectators in the grandstands.

Michael Ruben Rinaldi (ARUBA.IT Racing - Ducati / Ducati Panigale V4 R) was the local hero in Misano, taking his second win in the premier class, with second place going to Toprak Razgatlioglu (Pata Yamaha with BRIXX WorldSBK / Yamaha YZF R1) and reigning World Champion Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK / Kawasaki ZX-10RR) rounding out the podium. In WorldSSP and WorldSSP300, Dominique Aegerter (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha / Yamaha YZF R6) and Adrian Huertas (MTM Kawasaki / Kawasaki Ninja 400) triumphed respectively, thereby moving into the championship lead.

On the tyres front, Pirelli can be more than satisfied with the performance of the tyres introduced at the Pirelli Made in Italy Emilia-Romagna Round. In the WorldSBK class, all the riders chose a super soft compound for the rear: the protagonist of Race 1 was the new A0557 SCX development solution (option B), chosen by no fewer than nineteen riders on the grid, whereas the remaining two preferred the standard SCX (option A). On the front, most of the riders also chose to race with the brand new A0508 SC1 development solution (option A), whereas the rest of the grid preferred the standard SC1 (option B). Furthermore, the new qualifying solution in Y0449 specification allowed a new track record to be set at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli as well.

For this Italian round, Pirelli decided to celebrate the technical partnership with Italian manufacturer Ohvale, with which they were also able to introduce in the WorldSBK paddock two of the Ohvale GP-0 160 models, shod with Pirelli DIABLO Superbike tyres with 10-inch fitting. These “small” bikes will be the protagonists of the MiniGP World Series, a project conceived to unite the national MiniGP competitions from around the world with the goal of creating a launch platform for young riders and increasing their skills and opportunities. In fact, the top three ranking riders in each national competition will be invited to race in the world finals which will be held in Valencia, where all the Ohvale 160 on the grid will race on Pirelli Diablo Superbike 10” tyres.

For some time now, Pirelli has been involved in national and international activities that support the growth of young riders. Another example of this commitment is the technical sponsorship of the Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European Cup, the single-brand championship conceived to give riders around the world from twelve years of age the chance to race in a professional setting with a turnkey package. This championship, which will be held alongside various rounds of the MOTUL FIM World Superbike Championship, had its opening event right here today at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli with a race where the talented young riders battled for victory over the course of ten breathtaking laps on the bikes from the Iwata-based manufacturer.

WorldSBK Race 1:

It was a great start for Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK / Kawasaki ZX-10RR), Toprak Razgatlioglu (Pata Yamaha with BRIXX WorldSBK / Yamaha YZF R1) and Michael Ruben Rinaldi (ARUBA.IT Racing - Ducati / Ducati Panigale V4 R), who battled it out for the race lead from the beginning, with the Italian Ducati rider gaining the upper hand midway through the first lap. He was followed closely by Jonathan Rea, whereas Razgatlioglu and Scott Redding (ARUBA.IT Racing - Ducati / Ducati Panigale V4 R) paired up just over a second behind. On the tenth lap, the reigning World Champion made a mistake and re-entered the race in third place behind the Turkish Yamaha rider. Texan Garrett Gerloff (GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team / Yamaha YZF R1) had an outstanding performance, starting from pit lane and then managing to claw his way up through the positions to finish twelfth. There were no surprises in the second half of the race, with hometown hero Michael Ruben Rinaldi taking home his second win in the premier class on Ducati ahead of Yamaha rider Toprak Razgatlioglu and Kawasaki rider Jonathan Rea.

In WorldSSP Race 1, the new solution brought by the Milan-based tyre manufacturer received the approval of the entire starting grid.
