Too much rain in Magny-Cours
Today should have been a day of wet weather tyre testing at the Magny-Cours circuit, but in fact there was actually too much rain for the test to proceed! The circuit that hosted the French Formula 1 Grand Prix 18 times from 1992 to 2008, is playing host to the Pirelli test team for two days, to continue development work for next year’s tyres. Providing support is the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team, with its reserve driver, Mick Schumacher at the wheel of the F1W15 today.
Unfortunately, the bad weather meant any meaningful work was almost impossible, the German driver completing just 29 laps, the quickest in a time of 1’39”72. Testing continues tomorrow, again with Mercedes, when driving duties will fall to George Russell.
