Pirelli DIABLO™ Rain for the poles of Dixon in Moto2™ and Ogden in Moto3™

· At the Sachsenring, in the rain, Jake Dixon (Boscoscuro) took pole position in Moto2™ with a time of 1'33.487 set on Pirelli DIABLO™ Rain wet tyres, the same used by all the other riders. Barry Baltus (Kalex), second, and Tony Arbolino (Boscoscuro), in third position, complete the front row.
 
· Lapping in 1'35.001, Scott Ogden (KTM) took pole position for tomorrow's Moto3™ race. Behind him were David Almansa (Honda) and the Italian Guido Pini (KTM). All the riders used wet tyres for both axles.
 
· In the Friday afternoon Practice sessions held with about 33 °C on asphalt, new all-time lap records were achieved in both categories. In Moto2™ by Celestino Vietti (Boscoscuro) who with a time of 1'22.329, obtained with soft SC1 compound tyres at the front and medium D0922 at the rear, improved the previous record set by Somkiat Chantra in 2024 by almost 4 tenths (1'22.698). In Moto3™, David Muñoz (KTM) set the new track record lapping in 1'24.767 using medium SC2 front and soft SC1 rear compound tyres.
 
· Weather and temperatures: in the Friday sessions the track was always dry, with track temperatures in the order of 30 °C, while today was characterised by bad weather with rain, track temperatures of around 17 °C and wet track both in FP2 and in qualifying, forcing the riders to use only wet tyres throughout the day.

Good tyre performance in both dry and wet conditions 
 
"These first two days at the Sachsenring were very different from each other due to the weather: Friday saw a dry track and pleasant weather, whereas Saturday was characterised by low temperatures and rain, sometimes even consistent. This prevented the riders from improving their times today. On the other hand, the weather allowed us to see both the slick and the DIABLO™ Rain wet tyres in action, the latter protagonists of the first wet qualifying sessions of this year. The slicks allowed new all-time lap records to be achieved in both classes in the practice sessions on Friday afternoon, while the rain tyres showed very solid performance both in qualifying with rain and completely wet asphalt as well as in FP2 this morning, when the track was slowly drying at the end of the Moto2™ session. They have therefore shown great versatility and ability to adapt to different wet conditions in terms of the amount of water present on the asphalt. Based on the weather forecast, it seems that it may continue to rain intermittently until the early hours of tomorrow morning. It is therefore difficult to make predictions on the races. What is certain is that the rain has reset track evolution. If it dries quickly, the riders will be able to use slicks, with the Moto2™ riders almost certainly focusing on the soft SC1 front and the new medium D0922 rear and the Moto3™ ones preferring the medium SC2 rear and also at the front".
