PIRELLI PEERLESS IN BELGIUM AT THE MOTOCROSS GRAND PRIX OF LOMMEL

Lommel (Belgium) October 26th, 2020 – The Grand Prix of Lommel, the fifteenth round of the 2020 FIM Motocross World Championship, closed the triple header hosted by the famous Belgian circuit. The SCORPION™ MX32™ Mid Soft front and SCORPION MX™ Soft rear, considered by all the riders a reference for training and racing on sandy and/or muddy soil, proved to be successful even on a modified track compared to previous races and made slower and bumpier by the rain that fell during the day. On this occasion the tyres were combined with medium/hard mousses to better adapt to temperatures and climatic.

Tim Gajser took the overall win in the MXGP class with two sensational moto victories. The defending champion pulled his lead to 74 points over Antonio Cairoli who finished fifth. There was an excellent third place by Jeremy Seewer who led his teammate Gautier Paulin in fourth. Pirelli have riders in the top four positions in the championship standings.

Ben Watson won the first moto in MX2 and Roan Van De Moosdijk, making his debut in the 2020 world championship, won the second but Watson prevailed. Maxime Renaux climbed the third step of the podium. In addition to the first three places, Pirelli swept the entire overall top ten with Thomas Kjer Olsen, Isak Gifting, Tom Vialle, Thibault Benistant, Jed Beaton, Jago Geerts and Alvin Ostlund who occupied the positions from fourth to tenth respectively.

Pirelli dominated the final round of the EMX125 European Championship with Max Palsson earning overall victory and second position taken by Meico Vettik. The Italian brand placed three riders in the 2020 championship top five with Vettik an excellent third.

In just one week the riders will tackle the Grand Prix of Trentino in Arco for the sixteenth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship and the first of the last triple header this season.
